Nike Book

Devin Booker has been one of the NBA’s top shooting guards since the Phoenix Suns drafted him 13th overall out of Kentucky in 2015, and his relationship with Nike goes back even further: he signed with the brand before the 2015 draft, then extended the deal in 2018 and again in 2022, keeping him with the Swoosh through 2029. Booker has worn Kobe models since Kobe Bryant retired in 2016, a bond that started when Bryant signed the rookie’s game-worn shoes with the message “Be Legendary.”

His signature line debuted with the Nike Book 1 in spring 2024, released in two signature colorways. Booker wanted something “timeless,” so the shoe borrowed cues from the Air Force 1, Blazer and Air Jordan 1, as well as his restored 1972 Chevy Blazer K5, with a canvas and twill upper, a suede collar and a heel pull tab shaped like a book spine. Underfoot, a Cushlon 2.0 foam midsole with a rigid TPU sidewall was paired with a top-loaded Zoom Air bag in the heel. Nike closed out the Book 1’s run in December 2025 with a “What The” colorway. Lead designer Ben Nethongkome focused on “trimming the fat” for the Book 2, which dropped in January 2026 in the “Rising” and “Phoenix” colorways. It moved the Air Zoom unit to the forefoot, upgraded to a Cushlon 3.0 midsole, added a lateral outrigger and lowered the profile while cutting 5% of the weight. Its Air Force 1-inspired outsole introduced a sun-dappled herringbone pattern honoring Phoenix, and in September 2026 a “Be Legendary” player edition hit retail.
