Coming out of the Nike-sponsored Sooners, Trae Young was one of the most coveted rookies for the big shoe companies in the 2018 draft class. The prolific point guard opted to sign a multi-year shoe deal with Adidas just prior to the draft. Before his signature shoe dropped, Young tended to mix in some of Adidas’ more off-the-wall shoes, and for a time became the face of the futuristic N3XT L3V3Ls. He introduced the N3XT L3V3L 2020s in the 2020 All-Star game.
Young’s signature shoes, the Adidas Trae Young, went through three versions (plus two budget-conscious designs) before the deal with Adidas expired in 2024. Later that year, Young signed a multi-year contract with Jordan Brand. He’s showcasing the Air Jordan 40s this season.
As a college baller, Young wore Nike Kyrie 4 shoes on court for the Oklahoma Sooners. He played himself into the lottery pick discussion for 2018 with his standout season, and ended up being drafted 5th overall that year.
