Review consensus

Reviewers from the time rated the traction well on most surfaces and described the cushioning as firm but responsive, especially during changes of direction. The main complaints were heel slippage and minimal ankle support in the low-cut version, though the shoe was considered very stable, and one reviewer called it a step back from the original Gil Zero.

About the shoe

The Gil II Zero is Gilbert Arenas’ second signature shoe with adidas, following the Gil Zero that debuted in 2007. Built on the Team Signature TS Lightswitch platform, it was planned as a series of 20 limited-edition colourways for the 2007-08 NBA season, developed with the adidas REMIX division and launched with the dry-erase “Cust0mize” edition. The TS Lightswitch base uses a modular SELECT System with interchangeable ClimaCool and adiPRENE insoles, plus a strap across the midfoot. Retail prices across the collection ranged from $90 to $120.
