Review consensus

Reviewers highlight the strong containment of the Grant Hill 3's nubuck upper and its distinctive heartbeat traction pattern, which appeared well before the Nike Kobe 5. The main caution is sizing: WearTesters recommends going up half a size, and one reviewer found the materials and sizing of the 2015 All-Star retro disappointing.

About the shoe

The Fila Grant Hill 3 is the third signature shoe Fila built for Grant Hill, released in 1997 and worn by Hill during the 1996-97 season with the Detroit Pistons. It follows the Grant Hill 2 and uses Fila’s 2A cushioning, a nubuck upper and a heartbeat-pattern outsole. Fila reissued it as the Fila 97 in 2015 at $97. It returned under its original name in 2020 at $125, with leather and suede overlays, an EVA midsole with a structural wrap and a TPU graphic inlay. Available sources do not give the original retail price.
