Review consensus

No performance reviews of the original 1995 shoe were found, and Stackhouse himself later said FILA's technology at the time lagged behind rival brands. The design is a chunky, high-cut 90s basketball shoe, and retailers describe its retro versions as offering a comfortable fit and good grip.

About the shoe

The Fila Stackhouse 1 was Jerry Stackhouse’s first signature shoe, released by FILA in 1995 after he joined the Philadelphia 76ers out of North Carolina. As the first model in the line, it had no predecessor. Its best-known feature is the set of crisscrossing, tape-like layers on the side panel, which later gave the shoe its current name. FILA first retroed it in 2007 as the Stackhouse Spaghetti and reissued it in 2025 for its 30th anniversary. FILA.com has listed recent retros at $90 to $100, but no source gives the original 1995 retail price.
