Review consensus

No contemporary performance reviews of the Air Alonzo could be found. Retrospective coverage describes it as a high-cut leather shoe with visible Air cushioning, built for a physical center like Mourning playing in the paint.

About the shoe

The Nike Air Alonzo is Alonzo Mourning’s signature shoe, released in 1997 while he played center for the Miami Heat. It was the first shoe made under his name, so there is no earlier model to compare it with. It pairs a plush, high-cut leather upper with a visible Air unit, and the original white/black/red colourway carries style code 130839-101. It has not returned to retail shelves since, although Mourning later wore player-exclusive pairs with updated colour blocking and “33” heel tags during his championship run with the Heat. None of the sources found give its original retail price.
