About the shoe
The Nike Air Max CW was Chris Webber’s first and only Nike signature shoe, released in 1995 with “CW” logos on the heels. As the first model in the line, it had no predecessor, and it is credited as the first Nike basketball shoe with a visible forefoot Air unit, paired with a visible Max2 Air unit in the heel. It originally retailed for $140, though a Nike designer has said it was planned at $110 and landed at $120. Nike later reissued the design as the Air Max Sensation, with retros including a 20th-anniversary release in 2015.
