About the shoe

The Nike Air Max Sweep Thru is Amar’e Stoudemire’s signature shoe, which he promoted on ESPN when it reached stores in October 2011. It is a mid-cut basketball shoe with a crossing velcro strap over the midfoot, a design that ESPN compared to the Zoom Huarache Trainer, a shoe Stoudemire has said he loves. Other features include a breathable mesh tongue, a Phylon midsole, a visible Max Air unit in the heel and a herringbone rubber outsole. It retailed for $85, and Knicks home and away colourways followed later in 2011.
