Review consensus

Testing the 2017 retro, WearTesters found the wide herringbone traction excellent on every surface and the lateral containment and stability strong once the stiff upper breaks in. The polyurethane midsole is the weak point, with little forefoot impact protection, a long break-in and a somewhat clunky heel-to-toe transition.

About the shoe

The Nike Air Shake Ndestrukt is one of the Nike signature models of Dennis Rodman, who switched to it from the Nike Air Wayup during the 1996 All-Star break and wore it through the Chicago Bulls’ 1995-96 championship season. It followed the Air Worm Ndestrukt and has an asymmetrical upper, with a reinforced panel that pulls over to the lateral side, a Velcro strap and laces on the medial side. Cushioning comes from a visible heel Air unit in a polyurethane midsole. The original retail price is not documented, and the 2017 retro retailed for $140.
