Review consensus

No performance reviews of the GP III were found. The design is built around a swappable zip-up outer shell over a stabilizing inner boot, with a herringbone outsole and a heel Air and forefoot Zoom setup.

About the shoe

The Nike Air Zoom GP III is the third shoe in Gary Payton’s Zoom GP signature line, worn by Payton during the 2000-01 season with the Seattle SuperSonics. Nike unveiled it at the 2001 NBA All-Star Game in Washington, D.C., as part of its MORF (Multiple Option Replaceable Footwear) series. Where the GP II used a sleek synthetic upper, the GP III revived the zip-up concept of Payton’s “Glove” shoe, with a removable outer shell over an interchangeable inner bootie. Cushioning comes from a visible Air-Sole unit in the heel and Zoom Air in the forefoot.
