Review consensus

Reviewers single out the pressure-mapped traction as the highlight, saying it grips nearly as well as herringbone on most courts. The React cushioning is more divisive: some found it firm and tiring on the legs over long sessions, but the shoe's heel counters, TPU plate and rounded outrigger keep it stable and well supported.

About the shoe

The Hyperdunk 2017 Low is the low-top version of the 2017 edition of Nike’s Hyperdunk team basketball line, worn on court by Steven Adams. The main change from the Hyperdunk 2016 is the cushioning, as the 2016 model’s Zoom Air setup was replaced by Nike React foam. The upper uses engineered mesh backed with nylon, paired with a suede heel counter, a half-bootie construction and a pressure-mapped rubber outsole. It launched in August 2017 at a retail price of $130, the same as the previous low, and Nike brought it back as a retro in 2024.
