About the shoe
After the leak of the Nike Kyrie 8 (later dubbed the “Infinity”), Irving took to Instagram to call his own upcoming shoes “trash“, though the release has put to bed some of the initial quality worries.
An updated 3-layer cushioning system uses an Air Zoom unit in the forefoot sandwiched between a moulded sockliner and soft foam. Dynamic internal bands poke through the upper, and the laces feed through them.
The Nike Kyrie Infinity proved to be the last shoe in Irving’s signature line after his contract was terminated as a result of his promotion of a documentary that contained antisemitic messages.
