Review consensus

There are no detailed performance reviews of the Kamikaze I. An on-feet review of the 2014 retro describes a sturdy, bulky and heavy shoe that fits true to size, with most of its comfort coming from the padded upper rather than the midsole.

About the shoe

The Reebok Kamikaze I was Shawn Kemp’s first signature shoe, introduced in 1994 while he played for the Seattle SuperSonics. As the first model in the line it had no predecessor; designer Ricardo Vestuti gave it zig-zag, triangular upper panels and a tread pattern inspired by an Anita Pantin painting of a crown of thorns. The upper combines leather and nubuck, with Hexalite honeycomb cushioning in the forefoot and heel. Sources do not give the original retail price, but the January 2014 retro sold for $115.
