Review consensus

There are almost no detailed performance reviews of the Wink. One retrospective praised its leather upper but called the shoe "nothing to write home about," while Rockets fans remember it as a cult favourite and a streetball staple of the early 2000s rather than a shoe that caught on with other NBA players.

About the shoe

The Reebok Wink, also sold as the Wink DMX, was the first signature shoe for Houston Rockets guard Steve Francis and was named after his childhood nickname. As the first model in the line, it had no predecessor; the Reebok X-Beam followed as his next signature shoe. Francis wore it in the 2001 Rising Stars Challenge and through the 2000-01 season. It used Reebok’s DMX cushioning and a leather upper. No source found gives the original retail price, and in 2015 Reebok said it had no plans to reissue the shoe.
