Review Consensus
Reviewers praise the X1 Low's court feel, wide toe box and grippy herringbone traction on clean floors, though the tacky rubber picks up dust and needs regular wiping. Cushioning is deliberately minimal, so testers recommend it mainly for players already adapted to barefoot shoes and advise easing into it gradually.
Release Date: March 26, 2025
The X1 Low is the low-cut version of the X1, the first basketball shoe from barefoot footwear brand Xero Shoes, and is worn in the WNBA by Temi Fagbenle. As the debut model, it has no predecessor and pairs a foot-shaped toe box with a zero-drop, low-to-the-court platform and a thin layer of protective foam underfoot. The women’s version uses a women-specific last and outsole developed from thousands of 3D foot scans. The X1 Low launched at $160, and Xero Shoes currently lists it at $169.99.
