Review consensus

No performance reviews of the T-Mac 5 could be found. Sneaker History calls it a sensible, well-built basketball shoe that holds up better than its reputation suggests. That reputation suffered because the shoe came out just as McGrady's back problems began.

About the shoe

The T-Mac 5 is the fifth signature shoe Adidas made for Tracy McGrady, released in 2005. It moved away from the compression closure of the T-Mac 4 and brought back conventional laces, adding a strap over a synthetic leather and mesh upper. It is also the only model in the line built with nubuck, and its rubber outsole wraps up over the toe to form a forefoot cage. No source gives the original retail price, but the 2016 Black/Red retro was listed at $150 and the 2023 “13 Points in 33 Seconds” edition at $160.
