On October 23, 2019, the OMN1S, the first shoe in Kawhi Leonard’s new line, was finally released to the public, marking New Balance’s return to the basketball shoe market. The shoe, which retails for $140, is made of a mesh upper and features a leather or suede panel that wraps around the ankle. It also has a New Balance-branded strap across the forefoot and FuelCell cushioning technology in the midsole.
On February 15, 2019, New Balance announced the name of the shoe and showed off the first six PEs that will be a part of Kawhi’s signature shoe deal. The shoes were debuted on court during All-Star weekend.
New Balance had not released a basketball shoe since the 2010-11 season, after exiting the market unceremoniously when Matt Bonner’s prototype shoe came apart on the court.
