On February 15, 2019, New Balance announced the name of the first shoe in Kawhi Leonard’s new line – the OMN1S – and showed off the first six PEs that will be a part of his signature shoe deal. The shoes were debuted on court during All-Star weekend.
The OMN1S is made of a mesh upper and features a leather or suede panel that wraps around the ankle. It also has a New Balance-branded strap across the forefoot and FuelCell cushioning technology in the midsole.
The deal marks a return to the basketball shoe market for New Balance after an exit during the 2010-11 season that happened unceremoniously when Matt Bonner’s prototype shoe came apart on the court.
