The Kobe 9 EM Low Protro is Nike’s updated reissue of the engineered mesh low-top version of Kobe Bryant’s ninth signature shoe, which first came out in 2014. It keeps the original’s engineered mesh upper, lace cables and wavy traction pattern. The main change is underfoot, where a removable Nike React foam drop-in midsole replaces the original cushioning. The first colourway, the “Mambacita,” launched on May 1, 2025 for $180, and later colourways such as “Lakers Home” retail for $190.
