The Player 1 is the first basketball shoe from Serious Player Only, a Chinese performance brand founded in 2022, and its design draws on several past Kobe models. As the brand’s debut model it has no predecessor, and its main feature is an interchangeable drop-in midsole made from Evanlon, Pocon and Gum foams. The upper pairs the brand’s knit-like Nervenit material in the forefoot and midfoot with synthetic leather at the heel, backed by a carbon fiber shank and a TPU heel cage. It retailed for $180 and was later followed by the Player 1 Plus.
