The Crazy Explosive 2017 is a big improvement on the 2016 model, and provides elite fit along with solid traction, cushion and support. The Crazy Explosive 2017 is a big improvement on the 2016 model, and provides elite fit along with solid traction, cushion and support. The adidas Crazy Explosive 2017, a follow-up to the popular original Crazy Explosive, featured a Forged Primeknit upper, ankle and tongue cushioning, and a sock-like collar. The full-length BOOST and a lateral TPU roll-cage allowed for aggressive vertical play. The shoe was released in July 2017.

The shoe was worn by young adidas stars like Andrew Wiggins, Kristaps Porzingis, Brandon Ingram and Justise Winslow during the 2017-18 season. The Crazy Explosive line was continued following the 2018 NBA Playoffs. Most people consider the Adidas Pro Bounce 2018 to be the successor to the Crazy Explosive line.
