About the shoe
The Nike Air Swoopes 2 is the second signature shoe of Sheryl Swoopes, the first woman to get a Nike signature basketball shoe. Designer Marni Gerber followed the original Air Swoopes with a mid-cut upper of white leather and black nubuck, toggle-rope lacing with a lace lock, a midfoot shroud and Zoom Air cushioning. Swoopes was already wearing it at the 1996 Olympics. Nike re-released it in 2018 in the original white/red and white/royal colourways for $140.
