Review Consensus

The main issue with this shoe is its stiffness, limiting its mobility and performance. Its traction is also lacking, with low durability on outdoor courts and a grip that's average at best for indoor play. These issues aside, it does offer high impact protection and comfortable cushioning, along with good lockdown and support.

Release Date: May 30, 2024

To some outside viewers, Jordan Brand had been resting on its laurels for quite some time, and was in desperate need of fresh faces — and fresh signature shoes — to revitalize its image. Cue the entrance of Zion Williamson, Luka Doncic and Jayson Tatum, to carry the new mantle of Jordan superstars. But of the three, it seems to many like Tatum’s shoes have been the most well received, with their unique design aesthetic and high performance package.

The Tatum 2 represents a small but important evolution of Jayson Tatum’s signature silhouette, with its full-length Nike Air Strobel unit and lightweight frame pushing the boundary of what a sturdy modern shoe can do.
