The Freak 7 performs well at the price point, with solid traction for indoor or outdoor courts and consistent, firm cushioning that gives good energy return. The downside is the upper which, though durable, is stiff and narrow in the toe, which can lead to pain and pinching.

About the shoe

The Nike Giannis Freak 7, released in the third quarter of 2025, took a step sideways on the aesthetic front for Giannis’ signature line. The wavy, fluid takes cues from recent Jordan silhouettes, but maintains the hardcore traction and lightweight frame that we’ve come to expect.
