Jimmy Butler had been seen sporting all manner of Air Jordans for many seasons, as well as in college ball at Marquette. His first PE, the Air Jordan 29 Low Jimmy Butler, dropped in 2016 and featured a stylized JB logo and a striking Chicago Bulls colorway.
Though Butler first signed with Adidas when joining the NBA, the draw of the iconic Jordan brand was so strong for him that he reportedly took a major pay cut to switch back.
But in early January 2020, it was reported that Butler had finally parted ways with Jordan Brand, and proceeded to sign with Li-Ning, the upstart Chinese sneaker brand, which he will headline along with retired star Dwyane Wade. After trading off between the YuShuai and Speed silhouettes, Butler finally has a signature silhouette of his own: the JB1.
