Markelle Fultz, drafted 1st overall in 2017 out of Washington, signed his first shoe deal with Nike on June 16, 2017 after wearing Air Jordan Retro 12 shoes during his final year in college. Nike also signed the previous two number 1 picks, Karl-Anthony Towns and Ben Simmons.
When Fultz finally made his triumphant return with the Sixers in March 2018 after a season-long shoulder saga, he flashed the statement-making Kith Nike LeBron 15s. He’s continued on with various LeBron signature shoes, most often preferring the LeBron 17s and LeBron 16s with the Magic in 2019-20. Upon his return in 2022, he’s mostly worn Kobe Protros.
